I'm sitting the afterschool program with my kids doing Legos and Kinex. The longer I watched these kids, the more amazed I became. Many of these kids, mostly boys, struggled in school. Most of the grade level work is too hard for them. But how in the world are they following directions and building such amazing Lego displays!?!? Some weren't even using directions, they were being... wait for it... CREATIVE!!!! They were making up designs on their own!
So the question is... How do we tie this skill into their academics and help them feel more successful?
